Christiana Figueres is an internationally recognized leader on climate change. She was Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change from 2010 to 2016 where she oversaw the delivery of the historic Paris Agreement. Under this Agreement, 195 governments decided on a collaborative path to limit future global warming to well below 2°C and strive for 1.5 °C in order to protect the most vulnerable in every nation. For this achievement, Christiana has received multiple awards and has been credited with forging a new brand of collaborative diplomacy. Today, she is the co-founder of Global Optimism, co-host of the podcast ‘Outrage and Optimism’ and author of the book ‘The Future We Choose’. She also sits on the board of several companies helping them reduce their carbon footprint.
